About Us

Veterans Affinity

Richard “Rick” Kreiberg, Founder and Executive Director of Veterans Affinity, established this non-profit organization to fulfill his life’s purpose: To honor and serve those who served before him.  Veterans Affinity’s mission is to ensure Veterans get the care they need and the benefits they have earned.

When Rick enlisted in the Army in 1983, his leaders and mentors were Vietnam Veterans. They paved the way for him and many others on how to be Soldiers but more importantly how to be leaders. They were all about taking care of their Soldiers. Rick truly felt honored and privileged to serve side-by-side with some heroic Veterans.

Upon retiring after 35 years in the Army as a Command Sergeant Major, Rick discovered there were numerous resources for him and other post 9/11 Veterans. However, he quickly learned there were very few resources for those who served before him, especially Vietnam Veterans. Those brave men and women took care of their Soldiers, but who is now taking care of them? Rick knew his mission continued…

Never Forget” is more than just a slogan to us. At Veterans Affinity, we have an unwavering commitment to those Veterans who served before us. Our team of volunteers will meet with Veterans and their Family members to explore VA benefits they may be entitled to. We will coordinate with the VA and our community partners to ensure our Veterans and their Family members get the care they need and benefits they have earned.

Our three priorities for our Veterans are:

Housing

Healthcare

Benefits

We take a special interest in our 65 and older Veteran population. We will ensure our Veterans are in a safe environment and can help them find suitable housing based on their needs. We will also ensure our Veterans are receiving the care they need. If we discover Veterans are losing their ability to take care of themselves, we will explore additional care in their home. We can also coordinate additional medical equipment needed (oxygen, bed, wheelchair, walker, shower chair, etc). Once our Veterans are in a safe environment and they have the medical care they need, we will assist them apply for the benefits they have earned. We will assist Veterans with VA enrollment, appointments, pension, disability, and compensation claims.

Veterans Affinity will “Never Forget” those who served and will fight for those who can no longer fight for themselves. Regardless of where they lay their head.

Nice write up on what we do for Veterans, especially Vietnam Veterans, and their Families in our communities. We greatly appreciate Voyage Phoenix Magazine for taking an interest in our Veterans and bringing awareness to some of the challenges they face.
